About Ölands skördefest
Öland’s harvest festival started in 1997 as a way to extend the island’s season – and became Scandinavia’s biggest harvest festival. The weekend now spans 900+ events: farm shops and flea markets, art rounds in the barns, food from the island’s growers, and the classic pumpkin lanterns glowing along the roads after dark.
What makes it special is that the whole island takes part, from the Ottenby lighthouse in the south to Byxelkrok in the north. Many farms open only this weekend, and locals will happily tell you September is the island’s finest month.
